Casio has unveiled two limited edition calculators inspired by the work of artist Katsushika Hokusai, the JF-M200-TJ-KHK and JF-M200-TJ-KHG.

This launch comes about a year after the brand unveiled two limited edition DW-5600 watches (€119 at the Casio store in Germany), which also paid tribute to the Edo period artist.

Casio derived the design of the JF-M200-TJ-KHK from the painting “The Great Wave of Kanagawa,” as the device comes with a blue wave on a beige background. As for the JF-M200-TJ-KHG, it was inspired by the painting “Gentle wind and morning glory,” with an image of the Fuji Mountains in blue and orange colors. Both the case and buttons are inkjet printed, with the font of the buttons chosen to blend in with the traditional ukiyo-e art style.

Casio has equipped the JF-M200-TJ with a tilted LCD screen to increase legibility, with 31 buttons that support tax and time calculations. 12 numbers can be displayed on the screen, with the ability to adjust the decimal point and rounding settings.

The device offers GT and independent memory functions, as well as the ability to extend battery life using the built-in solar panel.

The two calculators are scheduled to go on sale in Japan for 5,500 yen (~$35) starting January 22. Casio has also listed these versions on its international site, indicating that they may be available in other countries in the future.
