Apple launched one of its largest software updates this year for iPhone smartphones. The new and important iOS 26.4 update offers a wide and exciting set of advanced, long-awaited features. These innovative additions include the ability for users to benefit from the services of the Shazam application to identify music without the need to connect to the Internet, in addition to providing a completely new music tool and full support for the AirPods Max 2 headphones to meet the aspirations of technology lovers.

The new operating system is available for direct download and installation on all compatible models, from the iPhone 11 to the flagship iPhone 17 series, which is currently available for purchase at a price of $799. Support also includes the second generation of economical iPhone SE phones, and users can obtain this update quite easily by going to the system settings, choosing the General section, then clicking on the Software Update option to begin the download process.

This comprehensive update brings radical improvements to the method of recognizing songs by adding a dedicated Shazam button in the quick settings menu to work even when the Internet connection is interrupted. This feature is complemented by the appearance of saved search results immediately upon reconnecting to the network. The update also includes a new smart tool called Ambient Music, which provides direct and quick access to carefully selected music playlists that are specifically optimized to suit sleep times, work periods, or moments of relaxation.

The default Music app is witnessing impressive visual changes, including displaying full-screen wallpapers for various albums and playlists, with the addition of the Concerts feature, which displays live performances by favorite artists in nearby areas. The system provides new accessibility options that allow reducing the effects of Liquid Glass movement and reducing the brightness of bright elements on the screen for eye comfort, in addition to providing official support for the new AirPods Max 2 headphones and adding eight innovative emojis to facilitate communication.

The Freeform application dedicated to creativity includes professional and distinctive content that requires a prior subscription to Apple’s Creator Studio service. The update brings very good news for users, as it represents a radical fix for a famous and annoying software bug that caused the keyboard to not respond correctly and accurately to inputs when typing at high speed, which ultimately ensures a smooth and error-free writing experience that meets the needs of users who rely on their phones to accomplish their daily tasks with high efficiency.
