Apple’s upcoming HomePad is poised to offer magnetic wall mounting in addition to many other features, according to recent leaks from a prototyping expert known as Kusutami. The leaker explained in a new post on the X platform that one of the prototypes of the device features a stabilization capability similar to MagSafe technology, in addition to its full integration with the smart doorbell. Kusutami, who personally saw this model, confirmed that the device will rely very heavily on Apple’s intelligence features to provide an exceptional user experience.
The company has been developing this device for several years to serve as an integrated control center for all smart home products. This innovation aims to facilitate users’ lives by integrating multiple tasks, including listening to music and podcasts and making video calls, in addition to providing quick and direct information such as weather conditions and details of events recorded in the daily calendar. Expectations indicate that the device will come with a 7-inch square screen with a built-in front camera to meet all these needs.
Kusutami explained that although the HomePad name is being used internally at the moment, it is unclear whether this is the final brand name that will be used at launch. The leaker had indicated earlier this week that the device is now scheduled to see the light during the fall of 2026. This period usually extends from September to December, and always coincides with the company’s busiest periods of technical releases throughout the year.
The first rumors suggested that this home center would be put on the market during early 2025, but plans changed radically over time. Continuing delays related to the development of Apple Intelligence features caused the expected launch date to be postponed to early 2026, before it was postponed again towards the fall to ensure the provision of an integrated experience free of technical problems that may affect consumer confidence.
This new timing means that the HomePad device may accompany the launch of huge and very important products from the company to form an exceptional technical event. Possibility indicates that this device could be unveiled with the leading iPhone 18 Pro phones in September, or it may be presented in conjunction with the unveiling of the new-designed MacBook Pro devices in October, to represent a strong addition to the company’s growing system.
