Rumors have long persisted that Apple is working on a smart home control device, informally referred to as the HomePad.

According to new reports, it appears that the launch of the device has been postponed again, with expectations that it will finally arrive during the fall of 2026.

According to circulated information, the device will come with a 7-inch square screen, in addition to a built-in front camera. It is also said that Apple is developing two different versions of it; The first is intended for wall mounting, while the second comes with a speaker base similar to the HomePod mini, allowing it to be placed on a table or desk.

The device will include a group of sensors capable of detecting the presence of people near it, so that the content displayed on the screen changes automatically based on the identity of the user in front of it.

As expected, the Siri voice assistant will play an essential role in operating and controlling the device, with the possibility of receiving a new design or interface dedicated to this product.

As for the price, expectations indicate that the device may be offered at about $350. It is noteworthy that its launch was initially expected during early 2024, before Apple’s challenges in developing artificial intelligence technologies led to its postponement first to late 2025, then to late 2026, with the hope that this postponement would be the last.
