Sony announced a significant increase in the prices of PlayStation devices in various global markets, in one of the largest price increases witnessed in this category to date.
The company explained that this step comes as a result of the ongoing pressures in the global economy, which is the same reason it relied on for previous increases over the past years.
The increases included all major devices, as the price of the PlayStation 5 in the American market increased by $100, along with similar increases in Europe, the United Kingdom, and Japan.
The new prices are scheduled to take effect from April 2, 2026, which means that users will face a higher cost of purchasing PlayStation devices during the coming period.
